to all who attended the first People’s Council event on Saturday 6th of June in Oban.

    Reform of local government requires not just smaller councils but to ensure power is invested in the elected members the political control of the administration required to be separate and at arms length from the salaried officials. This can be achieved by establishing public service bureaux which would bid to provide the services a council requires.

    Some of those who are unhappy with the decisions of Argyll and Bute Council were instrumental in the demise of the SNP led council . The council and its finances would have been in a far better place now if those individuals had not undermined the SNP led administration

    Still a lot of chatter and interest around that historic day.
    Please let me know if/when another day will be organised.
    Utterly inspired. Incredible young people who who organised and spike that day.
